The American Journal of Managed Care® Adds Innovation and Value Initiative to Its Strategic Alliance Partnership Program

CRANBURY, N.J.--()--The American Journal of Managed Care® (AJMC®), the leading multimedia peer-reviewed journal dedicated to issues in managed care, has added Innovation and Value Initiative (IVI) to its Strategic Alliance Partnership (SAP) program.

“IVI is committed to improving value assessment in health care through collaboration of leaders in all different areas of the health care landscape,” said Michael J. Hennessy Jr., president of MJH Associates, Inc., parent company of AJMC®. “We are proud to partner with such a great organization and help them with their mission to build a platform for value assessment in health care.”

IVI is a nonprofit organization that was created to raise discussions around value in health care by bringing together all participants in the system—academics, patients, patient advocates, payers, life sciences companies, providers, delivery systems and other stakeholders—to find common ground in the approach for measuring value. IVI strives to mitigate the rising costs of health care while preserving incentives to develop medical breakthroughs for future generations. IVI builds disease-specific open-source platforms that facilitate patient-centered value assessment of health technologies tailored to the needs and interests of individual decision-makers.

“Improving the science and practice of value assessment requires input by all stakeholders,” said Jennifer Bright, executive director of IVI. “AJMC® is an important partnership to foster transparent collaboration among different health care decision makers because of its trust and broad readership. We look forward to working together to break down information silos and move next-generation value assessment into broad application.”

The AJMC® SAP program is constantly building a community of health plans, advocacy groups, medical associations and medical institutions to foster collaboration and an open exchange of information for the ultimate benefit of patients and their families and to improve patient care. As part of this joint effort, AJMC® and IVI will share exclusive content with each other.
