DUBLIN, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Innovasonic, a leader in active self-cleaning technologies, today announced the appointment of Dr. James Kuffner as Chairman of its Scientific Advisory Board.

Dr. Kuffner brings over 25 years’ experience in engineering research and executive management. He co-founded and managed the Google Robotics division, helped develop Google’s self-driving car, and has led research and development of environment perception, autonomous motion planning and machine learning at the Toyota Research Institute. He is a co-inventor of the RRT algorithm for robot motion planning and author of 125 publications and 40 patents in 3D graphics, robotics, and autonomous vehicles. Dr. Kuffner is currently serving as CEO of Toyota Research Institute – Advanced Development (Tokyo, Japan).
