Securian Financial Gets High Marks in PLANSPONSOR Magazine Survey

ST. PAUL, Minn.--()--Securian Financial had the highest net client recommendation rating and won the most best-in-class awards1 among 401(k) and other defined contribution retirement plan providers included in a survey conducted by a top industry trade publication.

For nearly two decades, PLANSPONSOR magazine has annually measured and evaluated the recordkeeping services of 401(k) and defined contribution retirement plan providers according to feedback from their own clients.

After tabulating the 4,000 client responses to its most recent survey, the magazine recognized Securian Financial as a gold medal-standout in the $5-25 million plan asset class, garnering best-in-class recognition in 20 of 23 service categories. Securian Financial also was recognized as a silver medal-standout in the under $5 million plan asset class, with 17 best-in-class recognitions.2

In a measurement of how likely clients are to recommend their providers, Securian Financial’s 94.1 score2,3 from its clients in the $5-25 million asset class was the highest score tallied by any provider in any asset class.

PLANSPONSOR honored Securian Financial and other qualifying providers at the magazine’s “Excellence in Retirement Awards” dinner event, held March 28 in New York City.

Michael Akan, a Securian Financial account manager, was also honored at the event as a winner of the magazine’s “Service Star Individual Award.” This award recognizes account managers who, in the words of their clients, have demonstrated outstanding service over the past year. After culling through nearly 500 nominations, the magazine honored six individuals and four teams.

A Securian Financial employee has received the Service Star Individual Award two years in a row. Last year, PLANSPONSOR honored Securian Financial account manager Paula Hoover.
