HOUSTON--()--The Jewelry Building, a staple to the Sharpstown Mall for over thirty years, is nearing the end of its extensive two-year renovation. As the renovations approach completion, building owner Bruce Smith is excited to see the mall's new owner, real estate company Baker Katz' vision for it. With Sharpstown Mall's emerging destination, located between the Galleria and Sugar Land, Smith is confident his renovations will bring additional value and demand from other wholesale jewelers.

"Since the recent change in ownership of the Sharpstown Mall, we have seen much more activity regarding new tenant demand," said Smith.

The ten-story, 115,000 square foot, uniquely structured building occupies a hundred jewelry wholesale tenants and received an investment well over $2 million for building renovations. The jewelry building, is the largest jewelry wholesale building in Houston. Upgrades include a new HVAC system, roof, fire protection sprinkler system, and low energy consumption LED lighting system with motion sensors. Smith is completing the fourth and final phase of renovations by replacing all common area flooring, updating all bathrooms, adding new LED billboard signage, as well as upgrading the elevator and interior paint.

Smith is working diligently to bring value to the Jewelry Building's tenants and looks forward to the future of Sharpstown Mall under new ownership.
