ECFC Hosts 38th Annual Conference on Healthcare Consumerism with Focus on Educating New Members of Congress

WASHINGTON--()--With 100 new members in Congress following the 2018 mid-term elections, the 38th ECFC Annual Conference taking place March 20-22, 2019 in Washington, D.C. could be one of the most important meetings for the healthcare consumerism organization in recent history. ECFC is the leading nonprofit organization promoting choice in benefit solutions.

“While every ECFC annual conference has a key role in advancing our advocacy and education around tax-advantaged benefits, this year’s meeting takes on even more importance because of the many new faces in Congress,” said Martin Trussell, executive director of ECFC. “Our conference and the scheduled visits on Capitol Hill with congressional members and staffers represent a great opportunity for our members to get to know this new group of legislators as well as make their voices heard to protect and advance benefits such as HSAs and FSAs.”

In addition to the Capitol Hill visits, the 38th ECFC Annual Conference will feature congressional speakers, in-depth briefings, inside the beltway speakers, regulatory agency, and technical panels.

Serving as keynote speaker for ECFC’s annual conference will be J. Kevin A. McKechnie, the founder and executive director of the Health Savings Account (HSA) Council at the American Banker’s Association. He is also senior vice president and director of the ABA’s Office of Insurance Advocacy. McKechnie is an expert in healthcare, HSAs, insurance and government relations.
