Seaboard Marine Goes Live with XVELA’s Collaborative Stowage Solution to Improve Stowage Efficiency and Real-Time Visibility

Regional carrier implements XVELA at significant terminal in Latin America to optimize stowage planning and execution process

OAKLAND, Calif.--()--XVELA, the world’s first cloud collaboration platform for ocean carriers and terminal operators, today announced that Seaboard Marine, a trade leader in the Western Hemisphere, has gone live with XVELA’s cloud-based Collaborative Stowage Solution to improve stowage efficiency and real-time visibility into terminal operations.

The Miami-based carrier will use XVELA’s platform to perform container vessel stowage planning activities, share key collaborative information and view real-time terminal operations data to maximize port stay operations as well as improve communication, efficiency, and transparency throughout the stowage planning and execution processes.

“Partnering with XVELA has allowed us to streamline our planning and execution processes to further improve our operational efficiency,” said Hector Velazco, Manager of Cargo Planning and Operations at Seaboard Marine. “Having greater visibility into vessel stability and lashing lets us cut down on the number of iterations of our stowage plan during the planning process. Visibility into real-time crane operations gives us the information we need to make decisions such as precisely when to call the pilot.”

XVELA’s integration with existing systems provides Seaboard Marine with actionable insights throughout the vessel call, including crane plans, terminal activity, and estimated completion times. Using XVELA, Seaboard Marine can leverage these key insights to optimize port side decisions.

“Seaboard Marine is demonstrating its commitment to delivering the highest level of service to its customers by leveraging XVELA to gather the data necessary to make the most informed decisions,” said Martin Bardi, VP of Global Sales for XVELA. “Through XVELA’s integration with the TOS at an important terminal in Latin America and with the MACS3 onboard loading computer, Seaboard Marine is able to optimize stowage across each of its services to even further improve its schedule consistency and reliability.”
