California Medical Evaluators Announces the QME Starter Program

Company now offers a comprehensive QME practice management service designed specifically for newly appointed QMEs

LOS ANGELES--()--California Medical Evaluators announced today the offering of a new service for recently appointed Qualified Medical Evaluators (QMEs). QMEs are doctors certified by the California Division of Workers’ Compensation who are hired by attorneys, employers and insurance companies to examine injured workers in order to evaluate contested medical issues. QMEs play a vital role in the Workers’ Compensation system to aid in the adjudication of claims as well as to reduce fraud, waste and abuse.

Many physicians find QME work to be an important add-on to their medical practices, but managing a QME practice is very different than managing the day-to-day operations of a medical practice. In order for QMEs to conduct highly specialized med-legal evaluations, review voluminous medical records and write compliant, detailed reports, they frequently are faced with the challenge of employing highly trained staff to manage each case, provide billing and collections, adhere to guidelines, schedule evaluations and depositions, provide quality assurance, and market their expertise, all in a highly regulated market.

These challenges are amplified for newly appointed QMEs. As a matter of fact, since October 2016, 25% of all newly appointed QMEs have yet to start their QME practice at all (“3 Key Reasons Newly Appointed QMEs delay their QME Practice”, November 30,2018)! Amid the current QME crisis, physicians need all the help they can get to establish a successful QME practice. As a result, California Medical Evaluators has launched a unique QME practice management service, the QME Starter Program, specifically designed for newly appointed QMEs.

“California Medical Evaluators is the top choice for recently appointed QMEs due to our deep understanding of the challenges new QMEs face,” said Gabor Vari, Chief Executive Officer. “It is crucial to offer tailored QME practice management solutions to meet the unique needs of doctors at every step of the process. There is no one-size fits all in this industry.”

As part of the QME Starter Program, California Medical Evaluators provides a comprehensive suite of QME practice management services to let physicians be physicians and not have to worry about the administrative complexities of managing a QME practice. California Medical Evaluators also provides comprehensive services for pre-QME physicians as well as veteran QME physicians.
