DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Thanks, in part, to a $500,000 Affordable Housing Program (AHP) grant to St. Jude Inc. from Frost Bank and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (FHLB Dallas), Dallas has a new 104-unit housing complex for homeless residents.
The media is encouraged to join local dignitaries and bank representatives at a grand opening event at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at St. Jude Center at 2920 Forest Lane in Dallas.
The $500,000 AHP grant, which was awarded to St. Jude Inc. in early 2018, provided gap funding for the renovation of a building that formerly served as a retirement apartment complex at the southeast corner of Josey and Forest lanes.
AHP grants are available annually through FHLB Dallas member institutions such as Frost Bank to assist in the development of affordable owner-occupied and rental housing for very low- to moderate-income households located across FHLB Dallas’ five-state District of Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico and Texas.
Since the inception of the AHP in 1990, FHLB Dallas has awarded more than $261 million in AHP and AHP-funded grants to assist more than 48,500 families.
