ABOM Announces Sales Alliance with Essilor Prescription Safety Eyewear for RX with Advanced Anti-Fog Technology

ABOM offers the world’s first active anti-fogging technology with Essilor Prescription RX Insert solutions on its patented heated eyewear lens platform serving Safety, Industrial, Military and Snow Sport Markets.

PORTLAND, Ore.--()--Abom, Inc., manufacturer of the world’s first anti-fogging heated goggles with integrated rechargeable batteries, announces the newest addition to its line of products, the ABOM HEET RX goggle anti-fog solution. The HEET RX features the second generation of ABOM’s award-winning heated goggle technology, improving upon the brand’s patented ABOM® technology with improvements made specifically for integration and optimization for military, tactical, industrial safety and snow sports markets.

In alliance with the Essilor Prescription Safety team, ABOM now pairs its goggle system with a RX prescription customer solution. This complete purpose-built eyewear system leverages ABOM’s patented technology that makes it impossible for fog to survive on the inner surface of the eyewear with an RX prescription lens that now is one of the first guaranteed fog-free goggle solutions for RX customers. ABOM’s technology uses an ultra-low power thin-film technology with a transparent, conductive layer sandwiched between two polycarbonate lenses. The Essilor Insert is designed to fit inside the goggle system offering a fog-free RX environment.

ABOM thin-film technology is designed to optimize battery life while delivering maximum power conservation. ABOM's latest HEET goggle solution with Essilor insert features an integrated custom microcontroller (MCU) that manages power to the system from the two integrated, internal lithium-ion batteries, which are rechargeable utilizing the standard Micro-USB port. The goggle will last up to six hours in the Always-On mode and up to over a week in the on-demand mode, providing completely fog-free optics in even below freezing conditions.

“Essilor’s market leading RX prescription insert solution gives prescription glass users the ability to eliminate annoying and disruptive fogging issues while at the workplace or while recreating,” said Jack Cornelius, Abom, Inc. CEO.

“By working with ABOM and joining with Essilor in a sales alliance, customers concerned about their safety in a variety of areas will now have access to clearer and better sight. ABOM anti-fog technology leadership enables Essilor prescription eyewear solutions to be used in extreme environments never previously supported in safety, military and industrial eyewear goggles,” said John McMahan, Sr. Director Essilor Prescription Safety Eyewear.

ABOM has built a portfolio of 26 issued and 35 pending patents in three groupings (structural, environmental and power management) to provide a comprehensive and rapid solution to fogging. ABOM has also launched eyewear products that eradicate foggy lenses for the military, tactical, industrial safety and snow sports markets.
