New Statewide Online Public School Approved for Texas Students in Grades 3-12

Texas Virtual Academy at Hallsville is Now Accepting Enrollments for Fall 2018

LEWISVILLE, Texas--()--Texas Virtual Academy at Hallsville (TVAH), a new full-time online public school, is now accepting enrollments for the 2018-19 school year. Made possible through a partnership between Hallsville Independent School District and K12 Inc., TVAH will serve students in grades 3-12 from across the state of Texas. As a public school option, TVAH is tuition-free for Texas residents.

“We are thrilled to offer this new public school option to Texas families,” said Tina Littell, K12 deputy vice president for regional school services. “Our unique approach to personalized learning, combined with our innovative technology and excellent teachers, helps put students on a path to success.”

Students who enroll at Texas Virtual Academy at Hallsville will receive a personalized education experience designed to allow students to find the learning style that works best for them. The school’s rigorous curriculum is delivered online through live online classes with Texas-certified teachers, who interact with students and families via email, phone, web-based classrooms and online discussions, ensuring that students and their families feel supported yet challenged in their education in a way that may be different for every student. In addition to the web-based lessons, students will use hands-on instructional materials that are shipped to their homes.

Students will study the core subjects of English/language arts, math, science, history, world languages, art and music, as well as numerous electives. College- or career-minded students can choose profession-focused courses in order to gain a competitive edge for the future, discover their path after high school or explore a possible college major. All courses are approved by the Texas Virtual School Network to meet Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and iNACOL standards for online courses.
