CALGARY, Alberta--(BUSINESS WIRE)--On Tuesday, May 8, WestJet pilots, represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA), will hold their first informational picketing event near the WestJet Campus in Calgary, as they press management to focus on completing the pilots' first contract following more than eight months of negotiations.
ALPA and WestJet management have been in mediated talks since February after the pilots called in the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Services (FMCS) in an effort to make more progress at the bargaining table. However, after their 60-day conciliation period and more than 10 days into the 21-day cooling off period, WestJet pilots are still waiting for their first contract.
