CHARLESTON, W. Va.--()--The West Virginia Real Estate Commission ushers in a new era of convenience for licensed real estate brokers, associate brokers, salespersons, and branch offices with its new online license renewal service at http://rec.wv.gov.

The new service enables authorized users to quickly and easily renew their licenses online. Service features include:

  • Secure log in with license number & last four of SSN
  • View and update contact information
  • Secure payment process
  • Receive a confirmation receipt and immediately download and print license certificate
  • Convenient shopping cart feature enables multiple renewals in a single transaction

The service provides licensees with the convenience of making renewal payments securely using Visa, Master Card, Discover, or American Express 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Additionally, the service was designed to adjust to any size screen whether the user is accessing the application from a smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer.

"We designed the new service to create efficiencies not only for our agency but for our customers as well,” said Jerry Forren, Executive Director. “The process is quick and easy, and the service is accessible from practically any type of device. Additionally, the need to wait on the new license certificate to be mailed has been completely eliminated, which streamlines back office operations and saves time and money."

The West Virginia Real Estate Commission manages approximately 7,000 licensees who must renew each year between May 1 and June 30. To access the Real Estate Commission License Renewal System, visit http://rec.wv.gov and click the “Online License Renewal” button on or after May 1, 2018.

The new online service was developed at no cost to West Virginia taxpayers and was created by the West Virginia Real Estate Commission in partnership with WV.gov.
