LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Blackstone Law, APC announced today that their clients, four major ticket brokers, have filed a lawsuit against the L.A. Dodgers in Los Angeles Superior Court, Case No. BC699721.
The lawsuit claims that the Dodgers wrongfully seized thousands of season tickets from hundreds of brokers and funneled them all to their new broker “partner,” Eventellect. The reason is profits. When hundreds of brokers are competing to sell tickets to the same event, market competition drives ticket prices down. When all tickets are sold by a single broker, the Dodgers control the market. This causes ticket prices to skyrocket while fattening the Dodgers’ pockets.

“The Dodgers have turned their backs on the fans and brokers who have supported their team for decades through playoff droughts, postseason failures, messy divorces, and nasty lawsuits. The Dodgers have decided to monopolize the secondary ticket market so they can inflate and control ticket prices. Fortunately, the law prevents the Dodgers from doing so and our clients will not sit idle and let that happen.”
The lawsuit seeks monetary damages, punitive damages, and an injunction restraining the Dodgers from selling, transferring or distributing the season tickets for the 2018 Dodgers’ season.
