MONTEREY, Calif.--()--CyberData Corporation announced today it has expanded its offerings with a new product line: Industrial VoIP Phones.

This major announcement from CyberData points to a broader direction for the company. These new ruggedized Industrial VoIP Phones are designed for oil rigs, shipping ports, large campuses, subway stations, highways, tunnels and similar settings. Available in four options, these heavy-duty phones are designed to withstand extremely harsh elements and environmentally demanding installations.

  • SIP Weatherproof Keypad Phone has a Type 4X & IP66 sturdy thermoplastic resin enclosure to protect the phone against wind-blown dust, rain, corrosion, splashing, and high pressure water.
  • SIP Vandal Resistant Keypad Phone has a solid aluminum case to protect against weather and dust.
  • SIP Armored Steel Ringdown Phone is Powder coated with stainless steel hardware for corrosion resistance.
  • SIP Heavy Duty Emergency Keypad Call Station is perfect for large college/university campuses with push to call and emergency call buttons.

As is typical for CyberData, all Industrial VoIP Phones are PoE powered, use the SIP RFC 3261 protocol and double as paging speakers. All are designed to provide safe, reliable communication and to withstand abuse and harsh weather. This new direction illustrates CyberData’s goal of delivering to the VoIP market a more augmented portfolio of SIP devices designed for a multitude of environments.

“This is a new direction for us. We’ve always made SIP endpoints that register as extensions on a PBX network, designed to facilitate paging using a standard VoIP phone to page to SIP speakers or amplifiers/horns,” stated Phil Lembo, President & CEO of CyberData. He continued, “Now we’re delivering heavy-duty, Industrial VoIP phones. In the event of an emergency, they can receive a page, but their primary function is to reliably make calls in very demanding environments.”
