CURE® Magazine Announces Patrick Dempsey as Keynote Speaker for the Inaugural Ovarian Cancer Heroes Celebration Event

The event celebrates individuals who have dedicated their lives to raise awareness and education for ovarian cancer

CRANBURY, N.J.--()--CURE® Magazine, the nation’s leading consumer digital and print media enterprise focused entirely on patients with cancer is proud to announce that Emmy Award-winning actor, cancer advocate, Breakaway from Cancer Ambassador, and Dempsey Center founder Patrick Dempsey will be the keynote speaker for the Inaugural Ovarian Cancer Heroes gala. The celebration honors the heroes who have made differences in the lives of people with Ovarian Cancer. This year’s gala, will take place on March 23 at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans, 4th Floor, Imperial 5, during the Society of Gynecologic Oncology (SGO) Annual Meeting on Women’s Cancer.

“Patrick Dempsey’s continuous work in the cancer community has helped several families through their difficult journey,” said Michael J. Hennessy Jr., president of Michael J. Hennessy Associates, parent company of CURE® magazine. “We are thrilled to have him join us as the keynote speaker for the inaugural Ovarian Heroes program.”

In response to his mother's multiple bouts with ovarian cancer, Dempsey founded the Dempsey Center in Lewiston, Maine in 2008 with the intention of giving back to the community where he grew up, and where his mother first received cancer treatment. The Dempsey Center improves the quality of life for individuals, families and communities impacted by cancer through free support, education, complementary therapies, and prevention.

Each Ovarian Cancer Hero is nominated by patients and caregivers for their heroic contributions in the field of ovarian cancer. To nominate a hero and to register for the celebration gala visit www.curetoday.com/events/ovariancancerheroes
