Eastside Distilling’s Burnside Bourbon Added to Spirits Selection at Portland’s Q Restaurant and Bar

Q Restaurant Rated #1 in Portland by TripAdvisor.com

PORTLAND, Ore.--()--Eastside Distilling, Inc. (NASDAQ: EAST), a producer of award-winning craft spirits today announced that its Burnside Bourbon has been added to the bar at the Q Restaurant and Bar, TripAdvisor.com’s number 1 rated restaurant in Portland, Oregon. Burnside Bourbon will now join the Northwest’s premium potato vodka, Portland Potato Vodka, behind the bar at Q.

Erin Hopkand, Q’s Manager, commented “We love the people at Eastside, they are like family to us, and we love their amazing new spirits like the new bourbon line. We are already pouring Portland Potato Vodka, their great local vodka. Eastside fans can stop by to try the great cocktails Caitlin is making with Eastside spirits at our bar.”

Q Restaurant is a chef driven restaurant in the heart of downtown Portland specializing in hyper-seasonal food, sourced locally. The inspiration for the restaurant’s menu pulls from its staff’s diverse background, which allows for ever changing and unique menu selections. Q has strong relationships with local purveyors, producers, and growers, which is reflected not only in its dishes, but also its craft cocktails, wines and beers. Based in Portland, Eastside Distilling and Q Restaurant extend the tradition of local sourcing.

Grover Wickersham, chairman and CEO of Eastside Distilling, said, “Q Restaurant and Bar’s ranking by TripAdvisor as the #1 restaurant in Portland is one of many accolades Q has received. Recognized as excellent, Q’s bar is compact and highly selective under bar manager Caitlin Hooker. We are proud to have our Burnside Bourbon on the Q’s spirits shelf.”

Burnside Bourbon is the culmination of years of working with casks of Oregon Oak to finish bourbon, an art that was pioneered and perfected in Portland by Eastside’s Distilling. The Burnside line of bourbon, whiskey and rye is unique in that all of it is finished to varying degrees by being barreled in Oregon Oak prior to bottling. Because of the scarcity of Oregon Oak lumber, barrels command a premium price.

Portland Potato Vodka has a clean, crisp taste that mixes especially well in Oregon’s favorite cocktails and can be enjoyed straight-up on the rocks. The key to producing a vodka this smooth is to start with the right ingredients. Most vodka is made from grain, because it is as much as two thirds less expensive than potatoes. Potatoes, on the other hand, are the original source of vodka and worth the extra expense. Portland Potato Vodka, the leading locally produced vodka, also has the pristine water of Mt. Hood. Potatoes make for a vodka that is low-octane and exceptionally clean. If you’re looking for a tasty gluten free alternative to grain-based spirits, you’ve found your drink of choice.
