WEST ELM GIVES BACK 100 PERCENT OF PROFITS ON SELECT HOLIDAY GIFTS PURCHASED ON NOVEMBER 28

BROOKLYN, N.Y.--()--West Elm is encouraging shoppers this holiday season to consider the power of their purchases by participating in Giving Tuesday, a movement that celebrates giving back. On November 28, West Elm will donate 100 percent of its profits* on select holiday gifts, decor, tabletop and accessories designed in collaboration with the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®, and Nepal Earthquake Relief. Each product is designed to make an impact in customers’ homes and support the organizations that are making a difference in local communities and around the world.

We offer our customers thoughtfully designed products that make giving back easy and affordable year round through our longstanding partnerships with each of these organizations,” said West Elm president Alex Bellos. “You often hear change can start small and it’s true. This season we stand by our partner organizations to celebrate the importance of making every purchase count. We are proud to participate in Giving Tuesday for the first time and support our partners even more this holiday by donating 100 percent of our profits from each of their collections, giving our customers the power to effect change right from their shopping list.”

On November 28 from 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m., West Elm will donate 100 percent of profits made online and in-store from the purchase of any of the following ‘Gifts that Give Back’ collections:

  • The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals ornaments inspired by some of Instagram’s most famous and adorable pets, such as Cleo the Bunny, Juniper Foxx, Rusty Rodas and White Coffee Cat. Starting at just $9 each, the West Elm collection of ornaments benefit the ASPCA, an organization working to provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals.
  • The Human Rights Campaign Love is Love collection is back! And this holiday season, West Elm is spreading the love across a wider assortment including trinket dish, candle, dinnerware and ornament, ranging in price from $9 to $41 each. Each purchase provides support towards ensuring the basic rights of LGBTQ people around the world.
  • The St. Jude Glass Cat Objects are the purr-fect decorative object, gift and desk accessory for the feline obsessed. Each priced at $19 helps benefit the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®, an organization leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
  • West Elm’s exclusive collection of felt ornaments and accessories handmade in Nepal start at $3 each and include the whimsical blue octopus, gleeful turtle and glamorous mermouse. The purchase of each handmade piece will aid Nepalese craftspeople at West Elm’s Fair Trade Certified™ factory, Everest Fashions, and help fund rebuilding efforts after the devastating 2015 earthquake in the region.

Created in 2012 by the 92nd Street Y in partnership with the United Nations Foundation, Giving Tuesday connects individuals, communities and organizations around the world to raise awareness and inspire giving to those in need. The #GivingTuesday hashtag is used to fuel the movement on social media and encourage communities to come together. Each year the movement continues to grow and strengthen with new partners joining forces across industries.
