TORONTO--()--AST (Canada) is proud to announce that its President and Chief Executive Officer, Margot Jordan, has been recognized as one of the 2017 Canada's Most Powerful Women: Top 100 award winners by the Women's Executive Network (WXN).

The award celebrates Jordan’s inspiring leadership and pattern of excellence at AST (Canada), a full-service, tech-enabled professional services firm. Since assuming the role of President and CEO, Jordan has negotiated several large client contracts to win the organization’s first global transfer agency appointment, secured a deal that Listed Magazine named its “Deal of the Year,” and pioneered an initiative that effectively broke up a 30-year monopoly in the Canadian mortgage custody business.

“In just two years at the helm of AST (Canada), Margot has ushered in significant improvements on both the client side of the business and internally. Her understanding of what Canadian public companies need to ensure successful interactions with their shareholders and other stakeholders is unparalleled,” said Brian Longe, President & CEO of AST. “Not only is Margot an intrepid leader, she is also an inspirational mentor and trusted colleague. She motivates her staff and is known throughout the company for her transparency. She is someone with whom people want to work.”

In addition to her contributions at work, Jordan makes it a priority to give back the community. A survivor of two open-heart surgeries, Jordan is a dedicated supporter of the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, as well as the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, Rumsey Cardiac Centre.

“It is an honor to be recognized alongside so many accomplished, amazing women,” said Jordan. “Being able to work with such a talented team at a company that values its people and supports the advancement of women is a true privilege.”

The WXN Canada’s Most Powerful Women awards celebrate the professional achievements of strong female leaders across Canada in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. They are presented to remarkable women in nine categories, such as Corporate Executives, Entrepreneurs and Financial Trailblazers & Trendsetters. The Top 100 winners are chosen by an independent advisory board. A complete list of award recipients is available on the WXN website.
