LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Bob Hope USO, an independent non-profit serving the troops and their families throughout Central and Southern California, will host a Thanksgiving celebration with hundreds of Marines that just finished basic training at Camp Pendleton. Local airport hotels, including the Hilton Los Angeles Airport, the Hyatt Regency, Sheraton Gateway, the Westin, the Marriott, the Crown Plaza, the Renaissance, Four Points by Sheraton, and the Gateway to L.A., will supply and serve a traditional Thanksgiving feast to the troops.
MYfm will present entertainment for the troops and their families for the entire afternoon, and local comedians will perform. Also, special guests will greet the troops, including the Los Angeles Chargers players and cheerleaders, the Galaxy Star Squad, the Kings Ice Crew, and iHeart Radio’s Lizann Warner, Frazer Smith, and Rudy Moreno.
“The Los Angeles community has really come together to give these Marines a holiday they can remember,” said Bob Kurkjian, executive director of the Bob Hope USO. “Thanksgiving is one of those holidays that is associated with families and while these men and women are about to be deployed we want to give them as much of that experience as we can.”
A team of volunteers from Activision, during their Day of Service, will set up activities for the troops and their families, including games, and a photo booth. Additionally, the Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) annual drive to support the troops will deliver donations during the event.
The event will begin at 12 pm and go until 6 pm at the Bob Hope USO at LAX.
Bob Hope USO provides direct service to over 100,000 military members, their families and eligible military retirees in Southern California.
