Entero MOSAIC Releases a Better Method for Sensitivity and Scenario Analysis in the Upstream Energy Industry

(Graphic: Business Wire)

CALGARY, Alberta--()--Entero Corporation, the trusted leader in upstream and midstream software solutions, is excited to release new functionality in MOSAIC, which delivers the capability for E&P companies to test the resiliency of new projects by running sensitivity analysis. The MOSAIC Analysis Workbench leverages MOSAIC’s single source database framework and industry-leading calculation performance, to evaluate ranges of uncertainty of producing assets.

MOSAIC allows sensitivities to run on one or more entities, producing a variety of outcomes for analysis. There are several methods to support the different types of analysis:

  • Tornado Diagram – clearly illustrates the sensitivity of a single entity or group of entities (e.g. rate of return or NPV) to changes in uncertain input variables, one at a time.
  • Spider Charts – quickly shows the sensitivity of indicators to changes in uncertain inputs. Multiple intermediate points are calculated for an uncertain input and results are plotted on an x-y scatter plot.
  • Expected Value Calculations easily aggregate the probability-weighted possible outcomes for an asset or group of assets.
  • Scenario Batch – run multiple scenarios with a variety of price, production rates, and cost inputs in batch mode to generate all results at once.

The Analysis Workbench provides significant efficiency improvements for workflows, such as type curve comparisons, project level sensitivity analysis, and supply cost comparisons. Each sensitivity analysis can produce data sets that can be viewed as charts within the workbench or exported to Microsoft Excel.

“MOSAIC provides the information you need to determine asset resilience and understand project sensitivities for both conventional and unconventional projects,” said John Pollock, Client Services Director for Entero MOSAIC. “Our users will be able to understand the impact of changes in variables, and use that data to influence key assumptions and outcomes.”
