Colorado BioScience Association to Honor Life Science Industry Innovation, Leadership at 2017 Awards Dinner

Healthcare executive Jimbo Covert, member of Chicago Bears Super Bowl XX team, to keynote November 9 event

DENVER--()--Colorado BioScience Association highlights a banner year marked by acquisitions, investments, discoveries and partnerships during its 14th Annual Awards Dinner on Thursday, November 9 in downtown Denver at the Hyatt Regency. The event celebrates the companies, organizations and individuals who contribute to Colorado’s national reputation for innovation in life science.

As a highlight of the event, Colorado BioScience Association will announce the winners of the 2017 Company of the Year and Rising Star Awards. The awards honor companies for their achievements reaching significant milestones such as fundraising, commercialization and regulatory approvals.

Company of the Year Nominees

Array Biopharma: Focuses on the discovery, development and commercialization of targeted small molecule drugs to treat patients afflicted with cancer.

miRagen: Discovers and develops innovative microRNA-targeted therapies to address unmet medical needs and improve human health.

Sharklet Technologies: Creates and commercializes Sharklet®, the world’s first micro-texture that inhibits bacterial growth on surfaces.

Rising Star Nominees

CereScan: Combines state-of-the-art brain imaging technologies with a patient-centered model of care to provide the highest level of neurodiagnostics available.

Eximis Surgical: Works to ease patient discomfort, provide safe outcomes and deliver on the promise of minimally invasive surgery.

Ocugen: Is dedicated to developing innovative therapies and novel biologics for rare and underserved ocular disorders.

Additional honorees will include: Business Partner of the Year, Chairman’s Award, Volunteer of the Year, Educator of the Year, Institute Leadership and Legislator of the Year.

CBSA and the Boettcher Foundation will recognize the 2017 Class of Boettcher Investigators in the Webb-Waring Biomedical Research Awards program during the evening. The program awards early-career investigators at Colorado’s research institutions with $235,000 in grant funding to sustain three years of biomedical research and honors them with the title of Boettcher Investigator.

Event Details
