Carnegie Learning Selected as Math Software Provider for U.S. Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA)

DoDEA receives 1:1 personalized math learning, ongoing formative assessment, and customized support

PITTSBURGH--()--Carnegie Learning, Inc., a research-proven leader of mathematics technology, curriculum, and services, has been selected by the United States Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) as the supplemental math software provider for 24,000 middle and high school students at military bases across the Americas, Europe, and the Pacific regions.

Carnegie Learning was chosen, after an extensive vetting process, as best equipped to meet DoDEA’s priorities: ongoing embedded formative assessment and a 1:1 personalized learning platform. In addition to meeting these priorities, Carnegie Learning was found to be able to successfully meet technical requirements and deliver services on a global implementation scale.

DoDEA will implement MATHia, the truly adaptive math learning platform that provides a personalized learning experience for every student. MATHia supports students at all skill levels, meeting each student exactly where they are. It understands how students think about a problem, recognizes multiple approaches for problem-solving, and uses that information to help students understand why they got something wrong. Formative assessment is embedded as part of the learning process, not a separate event that takes time away from instruction.

DoDEA also receives completely customized Professional Learning support. Carnegie Learning Master Math Practitioners work with DoDEA Center for Instructional Leadership (CIL) personnel (Instructional Systems Specialists) on how to implement the solution and transform DoDEA math classrooms around the world. CIL Specialists then work with more than 1,500 teachers across the bases to ensure a successful implementation.

“We are so proud to work hand in hand with DoDEA leadership to bring next-level intelligent math learning and formative assessment to their students,” said Barry Malkin, CEO of Carnegie Learning. “This partnership will support DoDEA’s commitment to helping students become problem solvers, critical thinkers, and curious, resilient learners.”
