Undeterred by Hurricane Irma, 58th Annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show Prepares to Welcome the Global Boating Community

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--()--A month after Hurricane Irma blew through South Florida, preparations are on schedule to welcome the global boating community to the largest in-water boat show in the world: the 58th Annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

Eight miles of temporary floating docks have been put in place by a fleet of tug boats, as ground crews assemble customized, air-conditioned, temporary exhibit space. Over five days, from Wednesday, November 1 through Sunday, November 5, nearly 1,000 exhibitors from 30 countries will welcome enthusiasts from around the world to the vast display of everything boating.

Spanning more than 3 million square feet across seven locations, all connected by a network of water taxis, riverboats and land shuttles, the show features 1,500 vessels ranging from astonishing super-yachts to boats for every budget, as well as electronics, fishing gear, nautical-themed home goods and fashion.

Two of the largest super-yachts on display this year are the 257-foot Lurssen-built TV and the 237-foot Cloud Break, built by Abeking & Rasmussen. Attractions for the whole family include fishing clinics and seminars for adult and child anglers, educational sea life touch tanks, on-the-water boat handling workshops, live water sport demonstrations, and floating cocktail lounges.

The Windward VIP Club Experience offers the luxury of a private dining area, a premium open bar, gourmet food and concierge services. This climate-controlled sanctuary is the perfect platform to network, close business, or simply share the excitement of this international boating spectacular. Each VIP Club Experience package includes show entry, Windward VIP Club access and access to the water taxi transportation network. The daily cost for the Windward VIP Club Experience is $225 per person.

One-day adult tickets are $29. A one-day Prime Time Preview ticket (Wednesday, November 1) is $46.50. Two-day adult tickets are $52.50. A one-day child ticket (ages 6-15) is $12. Children under 6 are free.

Venues include the Bahia Mar Fort Lauderdale Beach Hotel & Yachting Center, the Hall of Fame Marina, Las Olas Municipal Marina, Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina, Sails Marina, Hyatt Regency Pier 66 Marina, and the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center.
