Community members have raised more than $12 million through Schwan’s Home Service and its Schwan’s Cares online fundraising program

MARSHALL, Minn.--()--Today Schwan’s Home Service, Inc. announced it has reached a major milestone in giving back over $12 million to a variety of community organizations through its Schwan’s Cares fundraising program. The company has given back to communities across the country, through fundraising, since 2006.

In 2012, Schwan’s set out to improve its fundraising program by building a platform that would provide an even easier and more effective tool for groups to raise funds. What ultimately emerged was Schwan’s Cares, a Web-based program where school groups, clubs, athletics teams, nonprofits, community groups, and faith organizations can earn up to 40 percent back by purchasing foods from Schwan’s Home Service, Inc. Schwan’s Cares provides a seamless solution to fundraising; there are no order forms, no money handling, no product sorting and products are delivered to supporter’s doors by Schwan’s Home Service route sales representatives. Participants can support their favorite causes while selecting from more than 300 delicious, convenient meals that provide flexible meal-time solutions to meet their family’s tastes and lifestyle.

How it works
The group’s fundraising coordinator can visit Schwans-Cares.com to create an online campaign. Once approved, the fundraising coordinator invites supporters to shop from any of the over 300 delicious foods, which will be delivered directly to the door. Groups have 135 days to fundraise. During the initial 45-days, groups earn 20 percent on food orders and 40 percent on eGift Card purchases. Once the initial 45-day campaign has ended, the group will continue to earn 5 percent for an additional 90 days. The organization receives the funds raised at the completion of the first 45 days and another check when the campaign expires.
