NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Taboola, the leading discovery platform, today announced a strategic partnership with Reddit, the home for conversation online with more than 330 million monthly active users, to offer deeper insights on trending content. Editorial teams at leading publishers using Taboola Newsroom will now be alerted when their stories start trending on Reddit and will have the ability to participate seamlessly in trending threads related to their stories.
Taboola Newsroom empowers editorial teams with actionable data about the performance of story headlines, thumbnails and story placements in real-time. The platform also provides editors with unique insights on trending topics from Taboola’s Network. As of today, Reddit insights are integrated into Newsroom, enabling journalists to see when Reddit conversations and engagement around their content starts trending or increases significantly. In turn, editorial teams using Taboola Newsroom can tap into the Reddit thread directly.
The integration with Reddit began several months ago and has already proved a valuable tool for Taboola Newsroom users. As an example, a recent story about Heisman trophy contenders by a leading news publisher, generated hundreds of comments and upvotes. Taboola Newsroom alerted the publisher that this thread was gaining traction on Reddit. As a result of the Newsroom alert, the social editor and reporter could track and participate in the conversation as it was happening.
“Reddit is known as the source of breaking news and trending topics with billions of monthly page views, hundreds of millions of monthly comments and 330 million monthly active users,” says Alex Riccomini, director of business development and media partnerships at Reddit. “Because our engaged user base is often the first to start meaningful conversations about news online, we anticipate the Taboola partnership will be extremely valuable for editors and newsrooms looking to uncover content trends and track the resonance of their own content within Reddit communities.”
“Data was a fad for a long time, people spent more money on it than they earned. We now have an opportunity to use data in an actionable way, and drive growth to our business and to our customers. We are thrilled to enrich editors with invaluable insights about stories and readers,” said Adam Singolda, founder and CEO, Taboola. “Our partnership with Reddit marks an important step in this journey, enabling our publisher partners using Newsroom to pick up a conversation in real time and participate in it.”
