Federman & Sherwood Announces Transfer of Samsung Top-Load Washing Machine Multi-District Litigation to Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA CITY--()--Federman & Sherwood is pleased to announce that they successfully argued that the Samsung Top-Loading Washing Machine cases filed throughout the United States should be transferred by the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation to the federal district court in Oklahoma City (Western District of Oklahoma). The litigation concerns at least 26 lawsuits filed in different federal courts. The common allegations arise from claims that over 30 models of Samsung top-load washing machines have design and manufacturing defects that may cause machine parts to detach, break apart, or explode during the spin cycle. Samsung issued a recall in November 2016 which plaintiffs claim is not adequate to repair the machines nor fairly compensates plaintiffs.
