CHICAGO & BRUSSELS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BDO USA, one of the nation’s leading accounting and advisory firms, is proud to announce that Albert Lopez has been named CEO of the Americas region of BDO International, Ltd, one of the world’s leading global networks of independent public accounting firms. Mr. Lopez succeeds Keith Farlinger, who was previously announced as the new CEO of the BDO network. Mike Musick, Assurance Managing Partner for BDO USA’s Nashville office, will succeed Mr. Lopez as Assurance Managing Partner for BDO USA’s Southeast Region and Stephen Ferrara, BDO USA’s Chief Operating Officer, will succeed him as the U.S. representative to the BDO Americas Board, which Mr. Lopez will now chair. Each of these appointments is effective January 1, 2018.
As Americas CEO, Albert Lopez will lead strategic initiatives in the Americas region for the global network. He will be responsible for the operational oversight of the entire region, including market analysis, practice management, business development and the growth of BDO member firms in the region.

Albert Lopez has been the Southeast Regional Managing Partner for Assurance Services at BDO USA since 2005 and previously served as the managing partner of the Assurance practice for the firm’s Miami office. During his tenure, he has played an instrumental role in expanding the firm’s presence in the Southeast. Albert has more than 30 years of experience in public accounting and as an international consulting partner to Latin America, serving as the head of BDO USA’s Latin America/Caribbean desk for the past five years. He works closely with his clients' management teams on general business counseling and planning. He has extensive technical experience with the SEC, taking companies public and consulting on mergers and consolidations. Albert is a graduate of Florida International University.
Mike Musick has been the Nashville Managing Partner for Assurance Services at BDO USA since 2007. He has more than 25 years of public accounting experience serving both publicly and privately held clients in various industries, including healthcare, real estate, manufacturing and distribution, and communications and entertainment. He has worked on numerous initial public and secondary offerings and has managed the periodic filings of clients in a variety of industries. Mike graduated Summa Cum Laude from Troy University.
Stephen Ferrara has more than 30 years of experience working in public accounting and in industry as a CFO. As the Chief Operating Officer of BDO USA, he is responsible for oversight and leadership of the firm’s assurance and tax business lines and the development and performance of each practice office. Steve oversees BDO’s business development, corporate planning, finance, information technology, marketing and communications functions and is integrally involved in the firm’s expansion strategy which has added offices in 25 cities and expanded critical mass in 12 existing markets over the past five years. Prior to his role as COO, Steve served as the regional managing partner for BDO USA’s Central Region.
