FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--At the annual Global Technology Distribution Council (GTDC) Summit, ASUS was named a U.S. Rising Star, receiving the Sector Growth Champion award in the Gaming PCs and Accessories category. A highly esteemed honor in the technology industry, this marks ASUS’ latest recognition by the GTDC. The Rising Star Awards distinguish today’s leading technology companies for exceptional sales growth and market share over the past year through their U.S. distribution partners.
"ASUS is among the distribution industry's most valuable technology partners, proving it again this year as a Rising Star recipient," commented Tim Curran, GTDC CEO. "Their success and impressive growth continues to advance due to a strong commitment to distributors and the overall solution provider channel."
“We are particularly excited about winning this prestigious award from GTDC and its recognition of ASUS as the sales growth leader in PC gaming products. By working closely together with our valued distribution partners, we are helping our retail customers to quickly and efficiently capitalize on growth opportunities with an ever expanding selection of the world’s best gaming hardware that includes motherboards, graphics cards, laptops, desktops, monitors, audio equipment, routers, and peripherals,” said Steve Chang, President of ASUS North America.
The U.S. Rising Star Awards are bestowed upon an elite group of vendor partners – only eighteen in total – in categories covering the scope of the IT channel. The Gaming PCs and Accessories category includes companies that focus on delivering a wide range of PC gaming systems, components and peripherals. Receiving a Rising Star Award further establishes ASUS as a top vendor out of hundreds of manufacturers and publishers who rely on distributors to meet the product and service requirements of technology solution providers nationwide and globally.
Rising Star Awards Methodology
Results for Rising Star Award winners are based on actual U.S. revenue and market share data over the past year, as reported by industry research organization The NPD Group using its Distributor Track® service. Available by subscription, Distributor Track aggregates actual distributor sell-through data to enable sharp insight into channel sales and pricing trends with the ability to dive into SKU-based details and drill down into specific product subcategories, including detailed attributes based on specific areas of interest. To be eligible for a Rising Star Award, vendors are required to have sold corresponding products through technology distributors for a minimum of two years and sell through at least two GTDC members.
