Vizient, Inc. Joins Other Health Care Organizations Urging Congressional Action to Help Safety-Net Providers

IRVING, Texas--()--Vizient, Inc. joined with more than 75 other organizations in a letter urging Congressional action on a number of health care programs that are vitally important to safety-net providers and the patients they serve.

Joining with other groups such as Children’s Hospital Association and National Association of Community Health Centers, Vizient wrote to Congressional leaders in both the House and the Senate, regarding the future of the Children’s Health Insurance Program, Medicaid Disproportionate Share Hospital payments, and the National Health Service Corps, among others. All of these programs represent vital elements of the nation’s health care safety net and must be addressed to avoid significant disruption.

This letter was also sent to leaders of multiple Congressional committees as well as the President and Vice President. As Congress considers addressing these programs before the end of the fiscal year (September 30th) we encourage them to not reduce other federal commitments to health care in order to finance these critical programs.

Vizient is the nation’s largest health care performance improvement company serving a diverse membership that includes academic medical centers, pediatric facilities, community hospitals, integrated health care delivery networks and non-acute health care providers.
