DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Optiv Security, a market-leading provider of end-to-end cyber security solutions, today announced that it has been named to this year’s Inc. 5000, a ranking of North America’s fastest-growing private companies. After growing nearly 75 percent in the past three years and achieving more than $2 billion in gross revenue for 2016, Optiv is one of only eight multi-billion dollar organizations and the largest cyber security company to make this year’s list.
“More and more enterprises are looking to accelerate their digital transformations to seize the opportunities presented by rapidly changing customer demands. Unfortunately, most enterprises remain challenged to balance their rising business and, therefore, security requirements, with limited funding and countless options,” said Optiv chief executive officer Dan Burns. “Organizations, and the security industry as a whole, need to take an entirely different approach to addressing the accelerating security problem. Instead of treating each cyber security symptom separately, and creating a complex, and unmanageable spider web of security components, we need to focus on an integrated and automated treatment for all security ‘illnesses.’ That requires a clear viewpoint of the full business requirements, which spans strategy, technology, process and technical acumen.
“Optiv’s repeated inclusion, going back to 2007, on the Inc. 5000 underscores the value of our unique perspective and the efficiency and efficacy our clients realize from their security investments. We look forward to further strengthening our partnerships with our clients, and helping them better achieve their business objectives with powerful, next generation security solutions that meet their ever-expanding global needs.”
“The Inc. 5000 is the most persuasive evidence I know that the American Dream is still alive,” said Inc. President and Editor-In-Chief Eric Schurenberg. “The founders and CEOs of the Inc. 5000 tell us they think determination, risk taking, and vision were the keys to their success, and I believe them.”
Methodology
The 2017 Inc. 5000 is ranked according to
percentage revenue growth when comparing 2013 to 2016. To qualify,
companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31,
2013. They had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and
independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of
December 31, 2016. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have
gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2013 is
$100,000; the minimum for 2016 is $2 million. As always, Inc. reserves
the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons. Companies on the
Inc. 500 are featured in Inc.'s September issue. They represent the top
tier of the Inc. 5000, which can be found at http://www.inc.com/inc5000.
