GEICO Response Teams in Houston Assisting Victims of Hurricane Harvey

HOUSTON--()--GEICO's Catastrophe Response (CAT) teams, which include auto damage adjusters, supervisors and managers, and IT personnel, arrived in Houston and are working in the affected areas to assist policyholders in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.

GEICO urges policyholders to report any losses as early as possible on GEICO Mobile, or by logging onto GEICO's Claims Center or calling 1-800-841-3000. Commercial vehicle policyholders can file a claim by calling 1-866-509-9444.

GEICO earlier installed express call lines for Hurricane Harvey claims and the company reports its claims teams are effectively answering the incoming calls. GEICO adjusters expect to see several thousand vehicles through Sunday.

Dan Beacom, GEICO regional vice president, urges policyholders to take the necessary steps to protect their families and to follow the directions of local officials throughout the hurricane event.

GEICO officials say that additional information is available at GEICO’s online Catastrophe Center with preparedness tips, links to other important hurricane information and weather sites, and immediate claims handling capabilities.
