California Virtual Academy @ Kings Begins 2017-18 School Year

Students Return to Online Public Charter School on August 28

SIMI VALLEY, Calif.--()--Students at California Virtual Academy @ Kings (CAVA @ Kings), an accredited full-time online public charter school, will begin their school year on Aug. 28 simply by turning on their computers. CAVA @ Kings uses the K12-powered online curriculum to offer students a personalized learning experience.

CAVA @ Kings, which begins its 15th year of operation, is open to students in kindergarten through 12th grade who reside in Kings, Monterey, San Luis Obispo and Tulare counties.

Families choose to enroll in CAVA @ Kings for a wide variety of reasons. Advanced learners can enroll in Advanced Placement® courses or take college courses through the dual enrollment program. Online school also allows for a more personalized one-on-one learning environment for students seeking extra assistance. Regardless the reason, the innovative curriculum and technology combined with a strong partnership between families and teachers makes it possible to focus on each student’s academic needs.

“When a parent chooses to enroll their child in one of the nine independent California Virtual Academies, they are enrolling in more than a school – they are joining an educational support system that was designed to give their child the best education possible,” said April Warren, head of school at the California Virtual Academies. “The education provided by each of the academies enables students to learn at their own pace, explore their interests and achieve their academic potential. Learning becomes a wonderful community and family experience.”

Students at CAVA @ Kings attend both live and recorded class sessions that are accessed online, enabling students and teachers to engage and interact as if they were sitting together in a traditional classroom.

Each student is supported by a California-credentialed teacher who monitors student progress while providing professional insight and instruction. Teachers communicate with students via phone, email and the online classroom technology, and teachers aim to establish a partnership with parents, so the students benefit from a strong network of support.

In addition to academics, teachers organize numerous field trips and social activities where students have the opportunity to meet their teachers and classmates in person.

CAVA @ Kings is still accepting enrollments for this fall. For more information, visit http://cava.k12.com.
