DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--UnitedHealthcare donated 26 bicycles to students at Rocky Mountain Prep – Creekside Elementary School, a public elementary charter school. The bikes were assembled at Bike to Work Day 2017 in Civic Center Park at the UnitedHealthcare booth by UnitedHealthcare employee-volunteers and Bike to Work Day participants, with assistance from Wish for Wheels.
The kids who received the bikes were selected from a pool of students in grades K-2 with perfect attendance during the first two weeks of the 2017-18 schoolyear. During the donation event, the 26 students were properly fitted for their new bikes and helmets, and received a safety demonstration from Denver Police Department Community Resource Officer Mike Borquez.
This is the third year in a row that UnitedHealthcare has partnered with Wish for Wheels during Bike to Work Day to build and donate bikes to Denver-metro-area kids.
