mSIGNIA Awarded Additional Machine Learning Patents for Authentication and Data Protection

Five patents now protect mSIGNIA’s innovation and leadership in using Digital Biometrics to ID users and protect online payments

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--()--mSIGNIA, the inventor of Digital Biometrics, today, announced that three additional patents have been granted; two by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and Patent No. 6095691 by the Japanese Patent Office. This totals five mSIGNIA issued patents for innovation in authentication, cryptography and data protection since mSIGNIA’s first patent was granted in 2014.

U.S. Patent No. 9,559,852 is a continuation of mSIGNIA’s earlier Digital Biometric patents that use machine learning to identify users and recognize devices; all in a consumer friendly and privacy compliant manner. When a user configures and personalizes their laptop, tablet or smartphone, data is added to the device. This data – the user’s Digital Biometric – changes according to a user’s habits: texts and calls are exchanged, media and music are played, locations are frequented, etc. mSIGNIA uses machine learning to anticipate and validate changing identity-related data. The result is a frictionless, continuous authentication of the user and the device on which the data is stored.

U.S. Patent No. 9,722,804 is an extension of mSIGNIA’s previous US Patent 8,817,984 on cryptographic security functions based on anticipated changes in dynamic minutiae. mSIGNIA’s invention of ‘Dynamic Key Crypto’ allows a website to store encrypted personal data on a user’s device. The secured data can include private keys, payment tokens and other private data necessary to personalize the experience for the user.
