MONTGOMERY, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Alabama State Lands Division, in partnership with Alabama Interactive, is proud to announce the release of its new website, AlabamaCanoeTrails.com. The newly launched Canoe Trails website allows kayakers and canoeists to plan trips down many of Alabama’s canoe trails, as well as set reservations for overnight shelters along their trip – all from the convenience of their home computer or mobile device.
The Alabama State Lands Canoe Trails website showcases more than 170 miles of trail located along the Bartram Canoe Trail in the Mobile-Tensaw Delta and the Perdido River Canoe Trail, allowing paddlers the opportunity to explore the state’s unique natural resources with more ease than ever. The Bartram Canoe Trail offers the option of camping on floating platforms and pile-supported camp shelters or primitive land-based sites with trail access starting from the 5 Rivers Delta Resource Center or at one of many local landings; the Perdido River Canoe Trail offers land-based shelters and allows for primitive camping at several sandbars. Access to the Perdido River Canoe Trail is from one of three landings located within the Perdido Wildlife Management Area. This project is funded with qualified outer continental shelf oil and gas revenues by the Coastal Impact Assistance Program (CIAP), Fish and Wildlife Service, and the U.S. Department of Interior.
