NEW YORK--()--Perfect365® Inc., the company behind the Webby-award winning, free makeup and beauty platform with more than 100 million users, has set the stage to completely evolve the beauty industry by introducing Perfect365 PRO. This new platform will allow makeup artists both in stores at beauty counters and those online to communicate with clients on a virtual platform. Now, both brand and freelance makeup artists can design their own makeup looks virtually, send a look to a client and communicate with the client through in-app chat. In addition, users of Perfect365 can scroll through profiles of makeup artists from Perfect365’s Explorer community within the app, find a makeup artist they like and request an appointment through the app. Brand makeup artists and freelancers can suggest new makeup to clients and show them how it will appear on them without applying it to their face. Also, announced today NYX Professional Makeup will be one of the first brands to be featured in Perfect365 PRO, and will kick off this partnership with a Live Augmented Reality Mirror demo and an exclusive masterclass with celebrity makeup artist, Kabuki in the NYX Professional Makeup NYC flagship store 41 Union Square, New York, NYC.

According to a recent survey conducted by Poshly, in coordination with Bay Area Beauty Association and Perfect365, 78% of women between the ages of 18-35 would be more inclined to purchase makeup from a brand if they could see what it looks like virtually on their face before purchasing it. “The rise of the Millennial buyer is causing a surge in the beauty industry. Allowing customers to learn about products and experiment with them on their smartphones prior to making an online or in-store purchase is key,” said Sinead Norenius-Raniere, Board Member, of the Bay Area Beauty Association.

Currently, there is no easy way for makeup artists to communicate what a makeup look will look like on a client. “For customers visiting a makeup counter or contacting a makeup artist through on-demand beauty service providers, getting their makeup done can be like ordering clothes online and hoping they fit. They might provide a reference photo of Kim Kardashian, but everyone’s face is different, so there no way to predict what it will look like,” said Alexis Blackmon, Professional Makeup Artist and Perfect365 PRO artist.

Another Poshly survey, conducted by CHICSTUDIOS and Perfect365, found that 81% of makeup artists would like to be able to offer their clients a preview of what a makeup look would look like on their face before applying it. In addition, 85% of makeup artists would want to offer their clients a preview of a makeup look using their photo or by having them look through a live camera. Among makeup artists who do use makeup apps, when given a choice of the four most popular, Perfect365 is the one most commonly used—42% report using it.

“For makeup artists, there is currently no solution that helps them create looks and organize client files all in one place. Yet, 96% of makeup artists would use a solution that could manage clients and all of their files in a centralized place. We are building on the success of Perfect365 by introducing a platform that both consumers and makeup artists can benefit from. Perfect365 users can experiment with makeup looks, find makeup artists in their area and get a clear idea of what the makeup artist's look will look like on their individual face prior to the makeup application, setting the right expectation,” said Vickie Wei, Marketing Director for Perfect365, Inc.

Introducing Perfect365 PRO

Perfect365 PRO is a platform specifically designed for makeup artists to be able to communicate more efficiently with their clients, develop looks for them prior to real-life application, and manage and organize client profiles. Consumers are able to find makeup artists (including brand specific artists) in their geographical area or communicate with their existing makeup artist. Providing the client with a realistic view of what makeup will look like on their unique face helps the MUA to set realistic expectations for their clients. Perfect365 PRO is designed mainly for brand counter artists and freelance/event artists, but beauty influencers can also use Perfect365 PRO to create amazing looks.

“Perfect365 PRO will drastically change the makeup industry. For my clients, getting the look right is the only option. Now, with the face detection technology in Perfect365 PRO, I can experiment and play with makeup looks on my client prior to applying it for a photo shoot and I can give them a realistic idea of what it will look like. Digital Beauty is really the future of my industry,” said Kabuki, celebrity makeup artist and Perfect365 PRO beauty advisor.

Makeup Brands in Perfect365 PRO

Similar to the Perfect365 digital beauty platform, Perfect365 PRO also works directly with brands to digitize looks in the app. Perfect365 PRO can digitize any complete looks for brand makeup artists to recreate and make minor adjustments, or, include individual products for them to create custom looks for a client. This can include an entire new line of products or specific looks for the current season. When the brand artist logs into PRO, instead of having general colors across the lip, eyes and face categories, they will have the colors from the brand they are affiliated with. In addition, brands can gain exposure to millions of users of Perfect365 by having their brand makeup artist and/or MUA influencers submit looks to the explorer section of the app.

Key Features in Perfect365 PRO include:

  1. Managing “Clients”- The first integrated Client Management Tool for Makeup Artists. Currently, there is not a tool to do so.
    a. Manage client’s profile info: Enter their name, add a profile photo (it’s hard to remember every client’s face), and detailed contact info.
    b. Visual and written notes: save reference photos (i.e. picture of Kim K. with makeup look the client likes), record client’s facial features (face shape, skin type and tone, eye color)
    c. Payment details: Make notes on deposits made and/or date of full payment made.
  2. Design looks – Artists can design a look from an existing look they’ve created, start a new look from scratch or use predesigned templates inside the app.
For brands, makeup artists can choose from the current brand products -- the lipsticks, eye makeup, foundation (including contour), eyelashes, eyeliner, blush, etc.
  3. Communication - Once the look is completed, the artist can send the look to the client, which will appear like a text message on the client’s phone screen. The client receives the look and responds using the chat feature in the app.
