PITTSBURGH--()--Rock ’n’ roll veteran of the ’70s Donnie Iris returns to Rivers Casino this summer to play a special concert in his hometown of Pittsburgh. Donnie Iris and The Cruisers will perform at the casino’s amphitheater on Saturday, July 29, at 8 p.m. Tickets for the performance cost $20, and concertgoers will receive a $10 Free Slot Play or Match Play that can be used on the day of the concert.

Known for his work with the Jaggerz and Wild Cherry during the 1970s, Iris’s impact on rock music is threaded throughout the early ’70s and ’80s, beginning when he penned the No. 2 Billboard hit “The Rapper” in 1970. After his stint with Wild Cherry, Iris enjoyed a successful solo career with chart-topping hits such as “Ah! Leah!” and “Love Is Like a Rock” in the ’80s.

“To have a Pittsburgh legend like Donnie Iris and The Cruisers do a special concert at our amphitheater is a real treat for our guests and any fans of rock music,” said Craig Clark, general manager of Rivers Casino. “Donnie puts on an incredible show, and our guests and Team Members just can’t get enough of his rock ’n’ roll!”

Since his breakout onto the music scene in 1970, Iris has left his mark on the rock music industry, as his voice can be heard on the first three Jaggerz albums, the fourth Wild Cherry album and his own 11 studio albums with The Cruisers, including one EP and two live and two compilation albums. Having toured with notable rock icons such as Journey, Bryan Adams, Foreigner and Bon Jovi, Iris continues to perform for fans throughout the greater Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Youngstown and Cleveland, Ohio, areas.
