CIRI Elects New Vice Chair and Directors

TORONTO--()--Today the Canadian Investor Relations Institute (CIRI), Canada’s national association representing investor relations professionals, announced the election of Denis Jasmin as the Vice Chair of the CIRI Board of Directors at the 2017 Annual General Meeting today. Mr. Jasmin is Vice President, Investor Relations at SNC-Lavalin Group Inc. He will succeed Brian Ector as Chair, CIRI Board of Directors in 2018.

Mr. Jasmin joined SNC-Lavalin in 2000 as Assistant Corporate Controller in the Finance Department. In this position, he was responsible for preparing the company’s annual and quarterly reports, revising financial analyses for acquisitions and investments, and for the financial aspects of strategic planning. In June 2007, Mr. Jasmin was promoted to Vice President, Investor Relations. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the École des Hautes Études Commerciales (HEC) in Montreal and has been a Chartered Professional Accountant since 1991.

CIRI members also elected: Janet Craig, Vice President, Investor Relations, Fortis Inc.; Laurie Gaborit, Vice President, Investor Relations, Detour Gold Corporation; Helen Kelly, Director, Investor Relations, MEG Energy Corp.; Meghan MacNicol, Vice President, Corporate Access, TD Bank Group; and Mathieu Richard, Director, Investor Relations, CGI Group Inc.

Ms. Craig is Vice President, Investor Relations at Fortis Group. She joined the Fortis Group in 2015 with more than 20 years in the investor relations field. Prior to this role, she was Senior Vice President of Investor Relations for Loblaw Companies Limited; Vice President of Investor Relations for Nexen Inc.; and managed investor relations for Nortel Networks. Ms. Craig serves on the Editorial Advisory Board of IR Magazine. She earned a Bachelor of Arts (Anthropology and English) from the University of Toronto.

Ms. Gaborit is the Vice President, Investor Relations at Detour Gold Corporation. She is a geologist with over 25 years of Canadian and international exploration experience and has provided strategic investor relations and corporate communications services to the resource industry since 1998. Ms. Gaborit joined Detour Gold Corporation in 2006 as Director, Investor Relations and was promoted to Vice President in January 2017. Previously, she was Vice-President, Investor Relations at High River Gold Mines Ltd. and Manager, Investor Relations at Rio Narcea Gold Mines Ltd. Ms. Gaborit holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology (Hons.).

Ms. Kelly joined MEG Energy as Director, Investor Relations in 2011. Previously, she worked for Suncor Energy as a planning analyst before becoming Manager of Investor Relations. Ms. Kelly possesses more than 10 years of experience strategically developing and communicating corporate and financial strategies in the oil and gas sector. Her previous experience includes equity research of large cap Canadian oil and gas companies at UBS and treasury, marketing, corporate development and merger-integration roles at the Asian headquarters of a UK-based conglomerate. Ms. Kelly holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia and an MBA from the Ivey Business School.

Ms. MacNicol has over 10 years of experience in the financial industry. She joined TD Securities in 2014 as Vice President, Corporate Access, Institutional Equity Sales and Trading. Previously, she was the Head of the Canadian Corporate Access Group at RBC Capital Markets. Ms. MacNicol obtained her Bachelor of Commerce, Marketing Management degree from Dalhousie University.

Mr. Richard joined CGI Group Inc. as Director, Investor Relations in April 2014. Prior to joining CGI, he worked for 10 years as a Financial Analyst with Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, initially covering the Canadian technology space then extending to global software and IT services. Mr. Richard holds a BBA from HEC Montréal and is a CFA charterholder.

Meghan Brown, Director, Investor Relations, Endeavour Silver Corp.; Gladys Caron, President, Gladys Caron Communication Inc.; Cristina Circelli, Deputy Corporate Secretary & General Counsel, CN Railway; Alice Dunning, Senior Director, Investor Relations, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce; Bruce Mann, Vice President, Investor Relations, Hydro One Limited; Jess Nieukerk, Senior Director, Investor Relations, AltaGas Ltd.; and Darren Seed, former Vice President, Capital Markets & Communications, Avigilon Corporation are retiring from the Board. They have all dedicated many years to volunteering for the organization and have made a tremendous contribution.
