BATON ROUGE, La.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aaron A. Lambert has been selected to serve as Amerigroup Louisiana’s Medicaid health plan president. In his new role, Lambert is responsible for all aspects of the health plan’s operations, while ensuring Medicaid members receive access to high quality care. Under Lambert’s leadership, the company will also continue to maintain its commitment to strengthening relationships in the community, and with its state and provider partners.

Lambert joined Amerigroup in 2007, and has supported the organization at both regional and state levels. He has extensive experience with Medicaid program procurements, and he has helped Amerigroup launch new credentialing verification systems, develop school-based health center partnerships and implement telemedicine programs. Most recently, he served as the head of operations for Amerigroup Georgia, where he led core Medicaid efforts and the development of the health plan’s foster care program. Lambert has served as the Board Development co-chair for Young Nonprofit Professionals Network and on the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club of Southeast Virginia. He earned his bachelor’s degree in community health from Old Dominion University, and he holds master’s degrees in health management from Eastern Virginia Medical School and in business administration from College of William and Mary.
