GridLiance, the nation’s first independent transmission company primarily focused on working with Public Power, deepens its leadership team with the addition of utility industry veteran, Kevin Donnelly. Donnelly, former managing director at Duke Energy Corporation, is now vice president of Corporate Development for GridLiance.
Donnelly joins GridLiance with more than 20 years of utility industry experience, including in the financial areas of strategy, mergers and acquisitions and forecasting. At GridLiance, Donnelly will lead GridLiance’s corporate development efforts, including assessing new business opportunities, exploring regional expansion, and leading large transaction negotiations.

During his career, Donnelly has managed strategic projects and mergers and acquisitions in electric, pipeline, midstream gas processing, real estate, and telecommunications, both domestically and internationally. While at Duke, Kevin was involved with the corporation’s separation and spin-off of Duke Energy’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Spectra Energy Corporation. Before Duke, Kevin was with Central and South West Corporation, prior to its merger with American Electric Power, where he led the company’s strategic initiatives into the entry of the United Kingdom’s electricity market with the acquisition of SEEBOARD PLC. Donnelly has also served as interim chief financial officer for the Upper Peninsula Power Company, an electric utility serving two-thirds of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
