New Chapter for Sunset Tower Hotel

Jeff Klein and Len Blavatnik’s Access Industries partner on Iconic Hollywood Tower

Partners committed to investing in property and continuing to deliver a world-class ultra-luxury experience

LOS ANGELES--()--After intense speculation, Jeff Klein is proud to announce that Access Industries is the new partner in his legendary Sunset Tower Hotel. Under their newfound partnership, Access and Klein will jointly own the hotel, with Mr. Klein continuing to oversee operations.

Designed by Leland Bryant in 1929 and opened as The Sunset Tower, a luxury apartment hotel in 1930, the 15 story, 81-key hotel is located on West Hollywood’s famed Sunset Boulevard and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The landmark building served as home to Hollywood’s legendary actors, among them Howard Hughes, Marilyn Monroe, Clark Gable, Joan Crawford and Bugsy Siegel (along with their numerous paramours).

We are excited to partner with Jeff and include this unique property in Access’ portfolio of iconic hotels. Under his leadership, The Sunset Tower Hotel has become a Hollywood institution, firmly establishing itself as a clubhouse for actors and filmmakers, artists, billionaires, tech gurus and the fashion community. We look forward to working with Jeff, an incredible hotelier, to preserve the hotel’s storied history and Art Deco elegance while elevating the guest experience even further,” said Jonah Sonnenborn, Head of Access Real Estate.

I am so thrilled to be working with Len and Jonah. I couldn’t ask for better partners who appreciate owning something so special and who, with me, are committed to investing to make it even better! The Sunset Tower fits in perfectly with the rest of their portfolio, like the Grand Hotel du Cap Ferrat. Honestly, the fact that they want to be in business with me alone is inspiration enough. They are the real deal and only pick winners – it really humbles me,” said Jeff Klein.

The hotels amenities include two restaurants, a pool with spectacular views of Los Angeles, a 24-hour fitness center, and the tucked away Cure Salon & Spa. The gift shop is stocked with custom hotel merchandise, and the bookstore sells rare, first edition books, often signed by the authors. Together, Access and Klein will immediately begin several enhancements to the hotel’s guest rooms, along with a newly imagined indoor-outdoor bar and dining area in The Terrace Room. These will serve to further enhance the hotel’s reputation as the jewel of Sunset Boulevard.
