PuppySpot Reveals Most Puppy-Loving Cities

New York Leads Pack, Followed by Los Angeles and Boston

LOS ANGELES--()--PuppySpot.com, the award-winning, trusted service that connects dog lovers with responsible breeders nationwide, today released its Q1 list of the top 10 puppy-loving cities in the United States.

The city welcoming home the most puppies so far this year is New York, followed closely by Los Angeles, then Boston, San Francisco and Seattle.

The 2017 city list is noticeably different from last year’s, with two new cities – Phoenix and Orlando entering the top 10. Outside of the top 10, Nashville is the highest rising puppy-loving metro, jumping 18 spots from #41 to #23.

The complete top-10 list is as follows:

  1. New York
  2. Los Angeles
  3. Boston
  4. San Francisco
  5. Seattle
  6. Philadelphia
  7. Phoenix
  8. Miami
  9. Orlando
  10. Denver

As far as the top breeds go in each city, New Yorkers have an affinity for the classic German Shepherd (which also won this year’s Best in Show Award at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show), while Los Angelenos favor the most popular breed in the country, the Labrador Retriever. San Francisco, Miami and Denver residents share a preference for the allergy-friendly cross-breed Goldendoodle, while those in the Pacific Northwest in Seattle desire the Siberian Husky.

“While people across the country may differ in their view on many topics, puppy love is not one of them. When we analyze our data, it’s great to see PuppySpot’s most popular cities for puppies span the map,” says Greg Liberman, Chief Executive Officer of PuppySpot. “That fact also highlights that, no matter where you or your breeder live, PuppySpot’s trusted service allows you to find the right puppy for your family through our screened and vetted network of thousands of responsible breeders nationwide.”

Liberman has been featured in various media outlets including Fox and Friends, the top-rated cable morning news show, sharing information on how pet lovers can find puppies through responsible sources.
