eMagin to Showcase Display that Exceeds Threshold for VR/AR Performance Requirements at Society for Information Display

HOPEWELL JUNCTION, N.Y.--()--eMagin Corporation, or the “Company” (NYSE MKT:EMAN), a leader in the development, design and manufacture of Active Matrix OLED microdisplays for high resolution imaging products, today announced that it will be demonstrating a full color 2000x2000 pixel OLED microdisplay which has a directly patterned emission structure and an advanced backplane at the upcoming prestigious Society for Information Display (SID) conference in Los Angeles, CA at booth 1209. The maximum brightness achieved on this display is more than 5,000 nits, which exceeds the threshold for acceptable VR/AR performance requirements. The advanced backplane is capable of delivering high peak luminance, wide dynamic range, high frame rates, and variable persistence operation with both rolling and global shutter options.

Dr. Amal Ghosh, Senior Vice President, R&D, will be presenting on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 3:40PM in the Technical Symposium and again on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 10:40AM in the Market Focus Conference. Dr. Amal Gosh will discuss the technology and needs of the industry for augmented reality and virtual reality display as well as highlight the capabilities of eMagin’s newest display.

“The development of this display is a significant step towards eMagin’s commitment to be a leader in the OLED microdisplay industry,” said Andrew Sculley, eMagin CEO. “We believe the performance of this display surpasses anything in the market today by a wide margin. Shipments of prototype displays to select customers are ongoing.
