MasterPeace LaunchPad Showcases Cutting-Edge Technologies During Spring Demo Day

State and Local Influencers and Industry Luminaries Laud Growing Portfolio of Innovative Solutions

COLUMBIA, Md.--()--MasterPeace LaunchPad celebrated a successful spring demo day, which took place on Wednesday, May 10 from 5:00-7:00pm. Attendees were joined by a notable group of state and local influencers and industry speakers to discuss the growing Maryland Cyber startup eco-system. The Zuul IoT, SpoT-IT, and MasterPeace Network Audio Multiplexer teams treated attendees to demonstrations of products taking shape in the MasterPeace LaunchPad portfolio. MasterPeace corporate leadership also presented updates on the MasterPeace model, the newly launched MasterPeace Products division, and a sneak peak of two new MP LaunchPad cyber startups, Yikes! and Noesis.

During the event, the speakers highlighted the tremendous technical talent base that resides in central Maryland and how that workforce can be leveraged to make Maryland a leader in the hyper competitive global innovation ecosystem. These speakers included:

  • Drew Cohen, President and CEO, MasterPeace Solutions
  • Allan Kittleman, County Executive, Howard County, Maryland
  • Michael Leahy, Acting Secretary at Maryland Department of Information Technology
  • Brian Corbett, Director of the Seed Investment Fund, TEDCO
  • Chris Inglis, Former Deputy Director and senior civilian leader of the National Security Agency, current US Naval Academy Robert and Mary Looker Distinguished Visiting Professor for Cyber Studies, and Managing Director at Paladin Capital Group
  • Ron Gula, President, Gula Tech Adventures and Founder and former Chairman/CEO, Tenable Network Security
  • Nate Lesser, Managing Director, MasterPeace LaunchPad

The discussion highlighted how innovation is critical to job creation and focused on the need for companies like MasterPeace and its LaunchPad accelerator to foster growth. While the engineering talent in the region is diverse, today's market for that talent is locked almost entirely inside federal government contractors and technology services businesses. In order to provide diverse opportunities that are worthy of this talent, Maryland needs to continue incentivizing the creation of new technology product companies.

As Drew Cohen put it, “Borrowing from Google, MasterPeace LaunchPad was developed to leverage the unique local talent pool of ‘Smart Creative’ engineers, to unlock their dreams and build a Silicon Valley East with its epicenter here in Columbia.”

The LaunchPad’s Spring Demo Day provided a glimpse into tomorrow’s technology leaders and solutions. The demonstrations exposed how the local talent is being leveraged and utilized for the continued growth of progressive cybersecurity product businesses in the area.
