Advantage Capital Hires Sandra Moore as Managing Director

Firm expands work in community impact investing with urban planning veteran

ST. LOUIS--()--Advantage Capital announced today that Sandra M. Moore has joined the firm as a managing director with responsibilities as chief impact officer.

With more than three decades of experience in urban planning, economic development and community revitalization, Moore guides the design of the firm’s investments and investment strategies to maximize community impact. In addition to impact investing, she assists the investment team in growing and sharing community impact results and studies results to ensure the firm is producing its projected returns.

Prior to joining the firm in this capacity, for nearly 15 years Moore was an invaluable member of the company’s New Markets Tax Credit Advisory Board, serving as a key adviser in efforts to grow businesses and jobs in historically underserved communities. Most recently, she was the president of Urban Strategies in Missouri, leading a team of professionals working in cities across the United States to help transform distressed urban core communities into vibrant, safe residential neighborhoods with new housing, good schools and an array of community strengthening services and amenities.

Moore is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis. She received her J.D. from the School of Law in 1979 and a bachelor’s degree in urban studies in 1976. She is the former director of the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations (DOLIR), where she served as a member of Gov. Mel Carnahan’s cabinet, and a former administrative judge with the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

Moore will be based in Advantage Capital’s St. Louis office with responsibilities reaching nationwide, including not only in Louisiana and Missouri but also Florida, Kentucky and Illinois, where Advantage Capital already has a strong presence, and states where the company continues to grow such as Georgia, Nevada, New Jersey and Utah.
