RCA provides detox, inpatient, and outpatient programs to treat addictions to drugs including opioids, alcohol, benzos, and others, in addition to co-occurring behavioral health disorders such as anxiety, trauma, depression, and bipolar disorder.
The outpatient facility in Voorhees joins RCA’s several other in-state facilities. RCA at Lighthouse offers an unprecedented approach to residential treatment for substance abuse and co-occurring disorders, headed by some of the nation’s leading clinicians and addiction medicine professionals. Located in Mays Landing, Lighthouse works with RCA’s outpatient treatment centers in Manahawkin and Ventnor, where patients receive a range of therapy tracks, including partial, general, and intensive outpatient services within a strong community.
The Voorhees location will join this comprehensive list of resources for those struggling from substance use disorder in New Jersey. A hub for community affairs, opportunities for learning in recovery and advanced personal growth lie at the heart of all RCA outpatient locations. The Voorhees facility will offer:
- Vivitrol, the first and only non-addictive naltrexone extended release injectable suspension to be utilized in treatment.
- 12 step meetings, which coupled with psychiatric and medical services.
- Intensive Outpatient (IOP), where patients attend session three times per week for three hours with a primary therapist, engaging in group therapy focusing on the goals in their recovery plan.
- General Outpatient (OP), in which patients typically attend one to three times per week for a duration of between 45 and 90 minutes and are provided with psychiatric and medical services on-campus as needed. This service also includes outpatient-based individual, family, relationship, and group counseling.
Angela Baxter BS, CADC is leading the facility as its primary therapist. She attended Drexel University for Behavioral and Addictions Counseling and is a certified drug and alcohol counselor. Baxter utilizes evidenced-based practices to help her patients gain knowledge of the disease of addiction, implement coping strategies, and relapse prevention skills in their recovery process. With a therapeutic approach founded on positivity, empathy, and compassion, she guides patients and their loved ones through the recovery process.

The site is located at 526 South Burnt Mill Road Voorhees, NJ 08043 and is open from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and a 9:00 a.m. through 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Group hours are from 10:00 a.m. through 1:00 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and from 6:00 p.m. through 9:00 p.m. Medicaid, Aetna, Horizon, Value Options, Cigna, Qual Care, St. Barnabas, and Magellan insurance options are all accepted.
