Vizient, Inc. Named as a 2017 World’s Most Ethical Company by the Ethisphere Institute

Recognition honors those companies who lead with integrity and align principle with action.

IRVING, Texas--()--Vizient, Inc., the largest member-driven health care performance improvement company in the country, has been recognized by the Ethisphere Institute, a global leader in defining and advancing the standards of ethical business practices, as a 2017 World’s Most Ethical Company®.

This is the second time Vizient has been recognized and is one of only two companies in the Business Services category underscoring their commitment to leading ethical business standards and practices. Vizient was formed in 2015 with the merger of VHA, Novation, University HealthSystem Consortium. MedAssets SCM business segment and Sg2 were acquired in 2016. Novation was a four-year honoree (2012-2015) on the World’s Most Ethical Companies list and twice received the Ethisphere Institute’s two-year “Ethics Inside” certification, once in 2012 and again in 2014.

Vizient has a long history of incorporating ethics and integrity into its daily business practices. In executing its strategy, Vizient operates from a dynamic set of values that drive both the performance of the company and the experience it creates for employees and members. As a newly combined company, clearly defined values help drive consistency – in areas ranging from working collaboratively to embracing diversity.

“At Vizient, we’ve prioritized the importance of diversity because we value the wide range of experiences and perspectives our employees bring. We serve the nation’s top health care providers, and in today’s dynamic environment, it’s more important than ever that we connect them with the knowledge, solutions and expertise they need to accelerate their performance,” said Curt Nonomaque, president and chief executive officer of Vizient. “By embracing diversity within our culture, including highlighting it as one of our company values, we are able to connect authentically, build trust and leverage our differences as we work with our members to ensure the delivery of exceptional, cost-effective care for patients and communities nationwide.”

This is the eleventh year that Ethisphere has honored those companies who recognize their role in society to influence and drive positive change, consider the impact of their actions on their employees, investors, customers and other key stakeholders and use their values and culture as an underpinning to the decisions they make every day.

“Over the last eleven years we have seen the shift in societal expectations, constant redefinition of laws and regulations and the geo-political climate. We have also seen how companies honored as the World’s Most Ethical respond to these challenges. They invest in their local communities around the world, embrace strategies of diversity and inclusion, and focus on long term-ism as a sustainable business advantage,” explained Ethisphere’s Chief Executive Officer, Timothy Erblich. "Congratulations to everyone at Vizient for being recognized as a World's Most Ethical Company."

Methodology & Scoring

The World's Most Ethical Company assessment is based upon the Ethisphere Institute’s Ethics Quotient® (EQ) framework which offers a quantitative way to assess a company’s performance in an objective, consistent and standardized way. The information collected provides a comprehensive sampling of definitive criteria of core competencies, rather than all aspects of corporate governance, risk, sustainability, compliance and ethics.

Scores are generated in five key categories: ethics and compliance program (35%), corporate citizenship and responsibility (20%), culture of ethics (20%), governance (15%) and leadership, innovation and reputation (10%) and provided to all companies who participate in the process.
