CashStar Partners with R-CISC to Drive Security Best Practices and Information Sharing across the Gift Card Industry

R-CISC to Discuss Cybersecurity and Risk Intelligence at CashStar’s Innovate Conference

PORTLAND, Maine--()--CashStar, the industry-leading provider of prepaid commerce solutions, today announced that it has partnered with the Retail Cyber Intelligence Sharing Center (R-CISC), a trusted cybersecurity resource for the retail industry. CashStar is the first gift card and prepaid commerce company to join R-CISC.

CashStar will work closely with R-CISC and its members to encourage risk intelligence sharing among organizations operating in the gift card and prepaid industries. In addition, CashStar will work with its clients and partners to encourage participation in R-CISC and the sharing of best practices. Through this effort to deepen risk intelligence and information sharing, CashStar and R-CISC are driving increased collaboration and alignment in the industry against common threats and bad actors.

“Finding effective tools to fight increasingly sophisticated cyber-attacks and protect customers is a huge priority for today’s retailers,” said Brian Engle, R-CISC executive director. “Enabling the convergence of cybersecurity and fraud for our retailer members is important in our fight against cybercrime. Because of CashStar’s leadership position in the gift card and prepaid markets, they have the power to help advance education and adoption of security practices that address fraud, cybersecurity threats to merchants and gift card providers, and are a welcome addition to the R-CISC membership.”

“All retailers and merchants with gift card programs need to join R-CISC,” said CashStar President and CEO Ben Kaplan. “R-CISC plays a critical role in promoting greater transparency and awareness of cybersecurity issues and threats within the retail industry, and we’re excited to increase gift card and prepaid related cybersecurity threats, as well.”

R-CISC will be presenting on a panel about cybersecurity for gift card programs at CashStar Innovate, the company’s user conference being held March 13-15 in Miami. In addition, CashStar will speak at R-CISC’s Collaboratory event May 9-10 in Dallas.
