ChannelAdvisor Names Paul Forte Chief Revenue Officer

Company also announces retirement of Co-founder Aris Buinevicius

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C.--()--ChannelAdvisor Corporation (NYSE: ECOM), a leading provider of cloud-based e-commerce solutions that enable retailers and manufacturers to increase global sales, today announced two transitions among its senior leadership team: naming Paul Forte as chief revenue officer and the retirement of Aris Buinevicius. Forte succeeds Ryan Walsh, who will serve as an advisor to the company until the end of the first quarter. As chief revenue officer, Forte is responsible for managing all worldwide sales and business development teams, and executing the company’s strategy to attract large retailers and branded manufacturers.

“With more than 25 years of experience in sales, sales management and organizational leadership, Paul is a proven leader with a successful track record of growing, developing and leading world-class sales organizations,” David Spitz, ChannelAdvisor CEO. “His extensive experience and leadership style are a perfect fit for our fast-paced, growth-focused organization. We are excited to have Paul join our senior leadership team and believe he will make significant contributions to ChannelAdvisor as we look to scale to the next level. At the same time, we are grateful to Ryan for his fifteen years of service to ChannelAdvisor, and in helping to build a sales organization that drove ChannelAdvisor across the $100 million revenue mark in 2015.”

Prior to ChannelAdvisor, Paul served as Executive Vice President, North American sales for Monster Worldwide (acquired by Randstad Holdings) where he managed the sale of all Monster products throughout a multi-channel network, including a 900-person direct sales force. Before Monster, Paul was Chief Sales Officer at Automic Software, where he led global sales, distribution, and customer success and was part of the core leadership team reporting to the CEO.

Forte also held various sales leadership positions of increasing responsibility and scope over the course of eight years at IBM, including leading IBM’s then-largest software brand in North America, Information Management. He came to IBM through the acquisition of Ascential Software Corporation in May 2005. Prior to Ascential, Paul served in various sales and sales leadership roles at PTC, eCredit and Nalco Chemical Company. In addition to his civilian tenure, Paul began his career as a US Army officer serving in a variety of staff and leadership positions including service during Operations Desert Shield and Storm.

Forte holds a MBA from the University of Michigan — Stephen M. Ross School of Business, an MSA from Central Michigan University and a BA in Chemistry from the University of New Hampshire.

“ChannelAdvisor is a recognized leader and innovator in empowering retailers and brands to help rapidly grow their e-commerce businesses across hundreds of online channels,” said Forte. “With more than 2,800 customers and an industry-leading e-commerce technology platform, I’m thrilled to help ChannelAdvisor further its leadership position.”

ChannelAdvisor also announced that Aris Buinevicius, chief technology officer, board member and co-founder is retiring from the company and from its board of directors effective March 17.

In June 2001 Buinevicius and Scot Wingo founded ChannelAdvisor. Prior to ChannelAdvisor, Wingo and Buinevicius co-founded Stingray Software and AuctionRover.com, which was acquired by GoTo.com. During Buinevicius’ tenure at ChannelAdvisor, he has helped drive the company’s technological vision, building the infrastructure that has grown to support the processing of $8.1 billion in gross merchandise value in 2016. Buinevicius was named a top CTO of the year by InfoWorld CTO 25 in 2010.

“Aris and I have shared an amazing journey together. It was a pleasure to work with him and build a number of successful ventures. I wish the best for Aris as he enjoys his much deserved retirement,” said Scot Wingo, executive chairman of ChannelAdvisor.

David Spitz, ChannelAdvisor CEO noted, “We are very grateful for Aris’ leadership over his long tenure at ChannelAdvisor. He will be greatly missed. Through his many years of guidance, Aris leaves behind a well-oiled engineering machine. We wish him the best in his endeavours.”

“It's been incredibly rewarding to see ChannelAdvisor evolve from a nascent startup to an e-commerce industry leading platform, and I’m proud to have been a part of this company through its growth. I'm very thankful to my ChannelAdvisor family, without whom none of this would have been possible. I'll enjoy watching ChannelAdvisor's next exciting chapters,” said Buinevicius.
