SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Last night, TechCrunch’s 2017 Crunchies Awards recognized the most innovative companies, leaders and startups of Silicon Valley and beyond. TechCrunch held its 10th annual awards ceremony at the San Francisco War Memorial Opera House, which was hosted by comedian, actress and writer Chelsea Peretti. Winners across 11 categories, including Hot New Startup, Hardware of the Year, TechCrunch Include Award and VC of the year, took home the coveted monkey statuettes of honor.
“For the past decade, the TechCrunch Crunchies Awards have recognized the best of the best while also serving as a way to gather our worldwide tech community,” said Ned Desmond, COO of TechCrunch. “The Crunchies Awards don’t just recognize popular products and leaders, but the people and initiatives that are helping steer our community to be a more inclusive and diverse one.”
Submissions for the 2017 Crunchies Awards came from readers around the globe, were whittled down by TechCrunch editors and then finalists were chosen by The Crunchies Board. TechCrunch editors, writers and a few very special guests presented awards to the honorees, and the celebration continued during the tech industry's favorite after-party.
“There are so many great leaders, companies and products that make up our tech community, so it’s never easy to select the best,” said Jordan Crook, Special Projects Editor of TechCrunch. “2017 is going to be another whirlwind year for the tech industry and we’re excited to see what these TechCrunch Crunchies Award winners and the industry as a whole has in store for us.”
